Congratulations Nanocrafter!

Congratulations to the Nanocrafter team, who was alerted late last week that the paper “Nanocrafter: Design and Evaluation of a DNA Nanotechnology Game” has been accepted by the Foundations of Digital Games Conference! For a game just under a year old, Nanocrafter is well on the way to making a mark in the world!

CGS Director Speaks at SXSWedu

Our partners Enlearn are in the news this week, recently announcing a deal with Voyager Sopris Learning to create a new product that will aid student’s development in English language arts and reading comprehension. In this picture, CGS Director Zoran Popović addressed SXSWedu Conference and Festival attendees yesterday, discussing “Rapid, Radical Changes in Student Concept Mastery”. Next week, he’ll be the opening keynote speaker at Learning at Scale in Vancouver, BC.

The Center for Game Science at the University of Washington focuses on solving hard problems facing humanity today in a game based environment. Our focus is on scientific discovery games, games that discover optimal learning pathways for STEM education, cognitive skill training games, games that promote human creativity, games that explore collective over individual intelligence, and many more.
